The main goal of the Biennale is to create an event that will bring maximum exposure and a common platform to the participating artist and students, promote the contemporary jewelry field, and make it accessible to the general public.
Jury
Chequita Nahar is a Dutch jewelry designer, tutor, and curator, born in Paramaribo, Suriname in 1970. Her work is informed by her bicultural background, reflecting a fusion of cultural influences.
In her jewelry, she combines Surinamese crafts and techniques with methods that are rooted in contemporary practices.
Nichka Marobin is an Italian art historian specialised in Dutch and Flemish art history. She graduated from the Faculty of Letters of Padova (Italy) with a dissertation on Renaissance ornament prints from 1500 to 1550 in Germany and the Low Lands. In 2011 she founded “The Morning Bark”, a blogazette on arts and humanities, where she posts about arts with a multidisciplinary path, including fine arts, books, fashion, and contemporary jewelry.
She is an independent curator and contributor at Klimt02; she is a member of AGC – Associazione Gioiello Contemporaneo (AGC- Association for contemporary Jewellery) and she has been part of the Art Jewellery Forum Ambassador Program and also a contributor at AJF.
Raquel Sasporta was born in 1963, "I am Israeli by nationality and an art curator by profession. I am currently the director of the Geological Museum in Ramat Hasharon, north of Tel Aviv.
My background is in art history and education. I worked for several years as the art collection director of the Yad Vashem Museum in Jerusalem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center.
In my present position at the geological museum, my primary goal is to provide an appropriate stage for exhibitions of contemporary jewelry and to expose this genre to the public at large."
